Focus: The Yogas Of The Bhagavad Gita

Training overview

This training is a deep dive into the four types of yoga that are described in great detail in The Bhagavad Gita, which gives us more tangible tools to access in the everyday lives we all lead.

Karma Yoga – the Yoga of Action

Bhakti Yoga – the Yoga of devotion and connection to the Divine Presence in our lives

Jnana Yoga – the Yoga of wisdom and discernment

Raja Yoga – the 8-limbed path of Yoga that teaches us about meditation

While The Gita is a 700 verse poem from ancient India’s literature,  the lessons it teaches and the guidance it gives is so beautifully relevant to all people, all cultures, all belief systems, and all times in history. It’s a story with a map that is intended to lead us back to the highest version of ourselves that we’ve gotten away from over time. And as we follow the guidance of this map within The Gita, we are then able to discover UNION with the divine force that created us.

We will look at yoga sequencing from an intuitive perspective — first through the lens of functional anatomy and then through the lens of sharing dharma talks from the mat.

The texts provided for this training are:

  • Polishing the Mirror by Ram Dass
  • The Bhagavad Gita translated by Eknath Eswaren
  • The Secrets of Meditation by davidji
  • The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz
