Vinyasa (includes Sunrise Flow)

Vinyasa classes are flow classes that cultivate balance, stability, flexibility, and vigor. Vinyasa movements are smoothly flowing and can be almost dance-like and classes consists of a series of poses that will teach you to coordinate with the flow of your breath. Breath awareness and coordination are carried throughout the practice as the asana ebbs and flows between effort and ease. Intensity levels & personal style varies by each unique Bridge teacher. Classes are still accessible to all levels as the instructors offer cues to extend as well as cues to modify.

Hatha

Hatha yoga will provide you with a well rounded yoga experience including postures, breath work, and meditation. This class provides a combination of postures coordinated with the breath, performed at a somewhat gentler pace which allows time to be present in each pose. This class works to gently stretch and move the body in a relaxed, supported way. Poses are often held for several full cycles of breath, allowing yogis to really connect with each pose, while exploring its physical and mental challenges and benefits. Classes focus on releasing tension, connecting with the breath and helping students gain strength and flexibility.

Yin

Yin yoga is a deeply relaxing practice that targets the joints and inter-connective myofascial tissues of the body to restore range of motion and flexibility while relieving pain and chronic tension throughout the body.  This practice complements any active yoga practice or exercise routine. Our philosophy in teaching Yin is that when our joints and muscles find release, so does our mind our spirit. Grumpy hips make for grumpy spirits, and yin can help with both!

Restorative

Restorative yoga is a very relaxed practice which utilizes props to support, open, and create ease in the body. A totally rejuvenating practice comprised of supported postures which are held for longer periods of time to allow for deep relaxation of the nervous system, allowing harmony to return between the mind, body, and spirit. This class is designed for all levels and may include breath work, guided meditations, and an extended savasana.

Gentle Yoga

Gentle Yoga is a mindful, slower paced yoga class that emphasizes peace and calmness of body and mind. Poses are held for a longer period of time to teach principles of proper physical and energetic alignment. This means that you can plan on taking several rounds of breath in each pose, instead of moving after each breath. The challenge in the class comes from holding postures for a longer period of time and the simultaneous steering of consciousness to the awareness of breath and movement. Gentle Yoga is a great place to start if you are new to yoga, as well as for anyone wanting a methodically paced class that still emphasizes the connection between breath and movement.

Meditation

We offer several meditation classes a week, all through Zoom. We try to keep our meditation sessions to about 15 minutes so you always know how to plan. Some sessions are early in the morning; others are just before bedtime, but all are designed with the idea that we NEED a meditation practice in our lives. We NEED time to bring our attention back to the present moment. And we NEED to do things that foster our awareness of self. New to meditation? Don’t worry! Our sessions are all “guided meditation” so you are not left out there to figure out what to do next. Join us! There is a meditation pass on our portal that is FREE for anyone, whether you are member of The Bridge or not!

HEATED Vinyasa/Heated SLow Flow

Let’s turn up temps to 85 degrees and do a little flow! That’s what you will experience in a Heated Vinyasa or Heated Slow Flow class at The Bridge. These classes are all offered at our Hot Studio (505 University Dr. E, Suite 801)– just across the street from our main studio and are designed to help you use the heat to create the internal fire you need to release whatever needs to be released!

THe Bridge Hot26

The only “scary” part of Hot26 is the 105 degree temp! The idea that this class is a set sequence of the same 26 postures each time we teach it gives students a little more comfort, as you always know what’s coming next! Hot26 allows you to detoxify your skin, clear out your mind, and sweat out any “stuff” you’ve been holding onto but need to release! It’s a transformational kind of yoga class! When you come, don’t forget your water and definitely, don’t forget your towel!

Yoga for Mental Health

This is a class for everyone! It’s a gentler paced flow class that creates a little heat in the body, but does it with intentionality. Through guided meditations, mantras, and even a little sound therapy, Yoga for Mental Health is a great place for all of us to get a reset on the day, the week, or even on life. It’s a chance to come back to yourself and find healing!

Chair Yoga

Don’t let a lack of balance or stability limit your ideas of what yoga can do for you! Chair yoga removes those limitations and teaches students how to effectively use props, including a CHAIR, to support their practice. We balance, we strengthen, and we remove the idea that we are limited!

Yoga fusion

Mix a little yoga, with a little Pilates, and with a whole lot of fun and you’ve got Yoga Fusion! The class will keep you working from start to finish, but by the time you leave the mat, you will know that you’ve done something great for the ENTIRE body! The pace is energetic, but the use of props makes every part of the class attainable!

Ashtanga

Modeled after Pattabhi Jois & Krishnamacharya’s Ashtanga yoga sequence, this vigorous and flowing class involves synchronizing breath with progressive and continuous postures, which produces internal heat while detoxifying the body. It’s a beautiful, predictable sequence that allows you to actually see the progress your body is making each time you show up on the mat.

Yoga Barre

Core strength, balance, and form are the focuses of Yoga Barre. We use the chair as our barre, allowing it to support our movements, while increasing our confidence. Yoga Barre creates a fun, energetic environment so that somewhere along the way, you forget you are actually working out the body.

Kids' yoga

Kids’ Yoga is for all ages of kiddos and their parents/grandparents. We meet the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month for 45 minutes and have a SUPER FUN time introducing our kids to all things yoga. We breathe, we move our bodies, we learn about Asana, and we talk about how powerful our individual vibrations are in the world!  (There is an additional fee of $10 per family for this class.)
